My family of 8 had dinner last night at this location. It was a dining experience that did not go well from the moment we sat down. The restaurant was not busy, and we were seated at a table directly under an air conditioning vent. My father-in-law and I both said something about the temperature the first time our waitress walked up. She was clearly a new waitress, and didn't know what to do about the temperature. Either way, a manager who is doing their job might have noticed an issue at this point but nothing was done.
When our waters came, the waitress spilled two glasses all over the table. Again, she was new and clearly didn't know what to do in the situation. My wife and mother-in-law mostly cleaned up the water while the waitress did nothing. Again, this would have been a moment for a good manager to step in and help, but nothing was done. The mess could not be cleaned with 4 of our napkins from the table, it then took close to 5 minutes for our waitress to track down extra napkins. And once again, no help from a manager nor did the waitress help clean the water.
When our beers came, the waitress came back and said that they no longer had the Cheery Stout on tap, and why she didn't know that before she took our orders is a mystery, but again I feel it was more of a reflection on the management than the new waitress. Then, when the replacement beer was brought out it was the wrong beer but my brother-in-law decided to just drink it since it had taken so long to come out.
Of all the things I have to say, I will complement the kitchen because for all the problems with the management of the restaurant, the kitchen seems to be functioning fine. Our food came out in a timely manner and was good all around.
The occasion for the dinner was my sister-in-laws birthday, and our waitress brought out an ice cream dish. However, when the bill arrived, we had been charged for the birthday dish without being told beforehand. We gave our waitress our credit card, but after 10 minutes she had not brought our bill back. We had to ask a passing-by waitress if she could find our waitress and find our credit card.
After all this, we decided to talk to the manager as we were leaving only to inform her that the experience was not up to standard and we wanted to help her better manage the restaurant going forward. Rather than a receptive ear, we were greeted with a rough shoulder. The manager, Kristin, was rude and un-receptive to everything I have stated here. She kept saying, "I don't want you not to come back." Well, if that was the case, a simple apology and being understanding would have sufficed, instead she argued with us about the details I have stated here and defended the new waitress as having done her job.
There is a clear problem with management at this branch. I could excuse the lack of anything being done during the various problems during our dinner if the manager had been receptive and understanding to what we had to say.

Happened on to this place by accident, we were actually headed somewhere else. It was between Granite City and another place which won out but we took a wrong turn and here we are! There was a review on Yelp that was 11 paragraphs long to the positive so probably not going to go wrong and decided to stay instead of find the other place....We always like to sit at or in the bar area, quick service and lots going on as well as being able to watch TV. I knew the beer would be good but was not sure what to expect for meal choices in a brewery, we raise cattle and really like a good quality steak! The 8 oz filet was a great cut of meat , very tender, seasoned just right and cooked to perfection! Many interesting choices for salad and sides. Good food, good wine, good service! Five stars and two thumbs up!

They sat us down and we didn't see someone for 15 minutes and it was the manager. Then 15 minutes later he came back and got our order and that was the last time we saw a person at our table. The food was good but we where there for about 2 hours and have no server and garbage service.
